- AIGA Worldstudio D×D Scholarship Program Now Accepting Applications
- Scholarships support underrepresented and economically disadvantaged students pursuing degrees in design, photography, and illustration
AIGA, the professional association for design, Diversify by Design (D×D), and the Worldstudio Foundation are pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the 2024/2025 academic year for the AIGA Worldstudio D×D Scholarship Program.

Celebrating its 30th year, the scholarship program increases diversity in the creative professions by removing financial barriers and providing equitable opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students from underrepresented and economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Scholarships are awarded annually to students with positive social agendas who are studying photography, illustration, and design disciplines in colleges and universities in the United States. The academic scholarship helps students achieve their educational goals and give back to their communities through their work.

Since its inception in 1995, more than 835 art and design students have received over $1.4 million dollars towards their design education. In 2023, D×D joined AIGA and the Worldstudio Foundation in this initiative, further growing their mission to build a design profession that reflects the rich diversity of our society.
Mark Randall, one of the original founders of the program said, “After 30 years of awarding college scholarships, these uncertain and turbulent times call for student support now more than ever. It is critical that we uplift the next generation of diverse and socially-aware creative talent.”

Andréa Pellegrino, Founder of Impact Collaborative (the managing entity of D×D) added, “It’s a testament to Worldstudio Foundation and AIGA that, three decades later, the scholarship program is still providing a pathway for the next generation of creative talent. As a big believer in the power of partnership and collaboration, D×D is humbled and honored to be a part of this effort.”
Apply online for the AIGA Worldstudio D×D Scholarship. The call for applications is now open, and the deadline is April 21, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.
Scholarships are awarded in amounts of $2,500-$3,750. One or two top awards may be given in an amount up to $5,000 at the jury’s discretion. Honorable mention prizes in the amount of $500 or $750 cash may also be awarded. Each scholarship is paid directly to the recipient’s school and applied toward tuition. A one-year AIGA membership is also awarded to recipients.

This program would not be possible without the generous support of our donors, most notably the Richard and Jean Coyne Family Foundation who have been supporting the scholarships for many years. The Coyne Family Foundation has led by example, providing critical support to the AIGA Worldstudio D×D Scholarships, and by igniting change within the design community. Their commitment goes beyond financial assistance-it empowers emerging leaders to challenge the status quo. Join the Coyne Family in making a donation today: https://my.aiga.org/donate-now
