For the past two years, I’ve been diving deep into the world of AI-driven design professionally, and let me just say—this has been the best creative act and investment of my entire career.

As a proud Gen X Fashion & Jewelry Designer, my only regret is that this incredible technology didn’t exist when we were younger. Imagine the possibilities! We grew up sketching by hand, fabric swatches in one hand and markers in the other, dreaming of art tools that could bring our visions to life instantly. Now, AI is doing just that.
A Glimpse Into My AI Design Series:
Lately, I’ve been experimenting with Leonardo.Ai—a space where creativity and AI merge to amplify your artistry—and sharing my AI-powered fashion art on my personal Instagram account—@senay.gokcen. What started as a creative curiosity has turned into a full-fledged artistic journey. Each collection carries a unique inspiration, and some—believe it or not—were born entirely by accident.
APRÈS-SKI / BEAUTY EDITION

Inspired by the beautiful winter sports, ski resorts, and ski fashion, this series captures the essence of cozy yet glamorous après-ski aesthetics. Think sleek ski goggles, plush faux fur beanies, and icy cool vibes. It also reflects my love for the color purple and its various shades, adding a dreamy and luxurious touch to winter beauty.

ALPHA FEMME

Sometimes, the best ideas emerge when you least expect them. While working on a different project, I stumbled upon something electrifying—a collection that exuded strength, confidence, and unapologetic femininity. Thus, ALPHA FEMME was born. The hair, the makeup, the commanding presence of these Alpha women—every detail was crafted to radiate power. This series is a testament to the fierce, independent spirit of women who lead with both grace and dominance.

VALENTINE’S DAY – LOVE EDITION

My background as a jewelry designer naturally seeps into my AI creations, but this series? It’s personal. I designed this collection specifically to celebrate Valentine’s Day, pouring my passion for both fashion and fine jewelry into every shimmering detail. The garments and accessories reflect my vision of romantic opulence, fusing elegance with modernity.

CELESTIAL REVERIE + LUNA EDITION

The cosmos has always fascinated me, so it was only natural to create a collection inspired by galaxies, stars, and the Moon. CELESTIAL REVERIE and its counterpart, LUNA EDITION, embody my love for astrology and spirituality. Each image tells a cosmic story—ethereal, dreamy, and infinite, just like the universe itself.

FASHION+INVASION

What happens when fashion meets extraterrestrial aesthetics? You get FASHION+INVASION—my tribute to the Year of the Snake, infused with alien-inspired elements. With over 70 AI-generated images, this collection was an exhilarating creative ride. Because honestly, what’s fashion without a little sci-fi twist? 👽

MOCHA MOUSSE

Inspired by PANTONE COLOR OF THE YEAR 2025: 17-1230 MOCHA MOUSSE, I wanted to explore this hue as a beauty edition. Brown tones aren’t typically my go-to, but when I do use them, they remind me of luxury cosmetics and earthy elegance. This series celebrates the warmth and richness of Mocha Mousse across fashion, interior design, and beauty.

PHYGITAL DREAMS: Visual Merchandising Meets AI

This series marks my first deep dive into Visual Merchandising through AI. As technology continues to blur the lines between physical and digital experiences, I’ve been exploring how AI can transform the way we present fashion in phygital spaces. This is just the beginning—I have so much more to share on this topic in the future!

Bringing AI Creations to Life
Of course, even with AI-generated designs, there’s still a touch of human finesse needed. I rely on Adobe Photoshop @photoshop to refine images—removing unwanted artifacts, adjusting details, and, most importantly, fixing those AI-generated extra fingers (because let’s be honest, hands are still a challenge for AI!). With the power of editing and Photoshop Generative Fill editing, I can ensure that my images reach picture-perfect quality.
AI Art and the Naysayers
Some people still resist AI and fail to see the immense creativity behind it. Creating a single perfect AI-generated image isn’t as simple as typing a prompt and hitting ‘enter’ on your keyboard-it often takes rewriting prompts multiple times and generating 100+ images just to refine one concept. The process demands patience, experimentation, and a deep understanding of prompt engineering, proving that AI artistry is just as much about skill and creativity as any traditional medium. True artistry comes from vision, not just tools.
And funny enough, those same people can’t stop stalking AI creators while refusing to show support. They linger in the shadows, watching every move, yet hesitate to acknowledge the innovation unfolding before them. Ironically, their curiosity fuels the very movement they claim to dismiss.

Lastly, I still love creating by hand and using traditional fashion illustration techniques-but let’s be honest, it’s never been easy, no matter how many art tools and limitless options we have today. I still remember the early years of the 1990s, when creativity wasn’t just encouraged-it was essential. When I was studying Fashion & Accessories Design at the Fine Arts Faculty, I vividly remember mixing gouache paint with ‘semolina’ (yes, the same one used for pizza dough and other foods), drying it overnight, and using it to add texture to my designs. I even experimented with nail polish shades to mimic the shine of crystal embellishments, or used them to craft entire collections to illustrate shiny leather, and used eye shadows, makeup powders, or even shoe paint to create matte effects, like illustrating suede-always pushing the boundaries of materials to bring my vision to life. And all creatives who use various painting methods to bring their designs to life know one truth all too well-“painting” contains a hidden word in it: “pain.”
Keep creating fearlessly—people are watching, whether they admit it or not!
