SYKY Collective Designer Calvyn Justus and 3D artist FVCKRENDER push the boundaries of physical-digital fashion with an Olympic-inspired piece powered by SYKY.
Digital Fashion Meets Athletic Precision: SYKY Unveils Exclusive Luxury Fashion Collaboration with FVCKRENDER and Calvyn Justus.
Luxury fashion platform SYKY is pleased to introduce JUSTUS x FVCKRENDER, a fashion collaboration between acclaimed 3D artist FVCKRENDER and SYKY Collective designer, former Olympic swimmer Calvyn Justus, two of the most sought-after artists working at the intersection of fashion, digital design & Web3 today.
Brought to life by SYKY, the collaboration centers around the FVYN// Pants, which represent both artists’ debut into the world of physical fashion. These digital-physical pants effortlessly merge FVCKRENDER’s intricate artistry with Justus’ design codes, which incorporate street style and the precision of high-performance athletics wear.
Justus has seen his futuristic street style-infused creations go viral online over the last year, while also garnering recognition in the fashion and art worlds. His work has been presented at both London and New York Fashion Week, and has been featured in notable publications including i-D and GQ.
FVCKRENDER is a giant in his field. The Canadian artist’s pieces, which blend organic and mechanical aesthetics, are in high demand across both digital and physical spaces: from fine artworks auctioned at Sotheby’s and Christie’s, large-scale 3D installations at Frieze, to a recent immersive art showcase on the screens of the Vegas Sphere.
With every collaboration here at SYKY, we’re building a bridge to the future of fashion, which we believe exists in both the physical, digital and spatial worlds. Justus and FVCKRENDER share our vision and are bringing creativity, artistry, and an unrelenting attention to detail to these realms.
— Alice Delahunt, Founder and CEO of SYKY.
The FVYN// Pants are a contemporary reimagining of classic denim jeans. Inspired by the fluid movement and strength of a shark’s dorsal fin, they are cut with a sleek barrel-leg silhouette and crafted from a unique combination of raw true black denim and neoprene detailing in the form of stylized panels.
The panels double as utility pockets and form an abstract wing shape in reference to the Greek goddess, Nike, who symbolizes Olympian athletic prowess. The use of neoprene nods to designer Calvyn Justus’ Olympic swimming career and love of water, with the black-on-black colorway further adding to the aesthetic association with wetsuits.
The FVYN// Pants are finished with a detachable silver FVYN// Chainlink pendant set with seven moissanite stones. The chain link is a signature FVCKRENDER motif, and represents the connections at the heart of the collaboration: digital and physical, JUSTUS and FVCKRENDER, fashion and digital design, as well as the relationship between artist and collector. The FVYN// Chainlink pendant is also available to purchase as a standalone piece.
The digital FVYN// Pants are purposefully matched to their physical counterpart, allowing virtual-real world synchronicity. The digital version also serves as collector authentication and an opportunity to display, store and present the physical piece online.
“The inspiration behind this project stems from the intersection of digital and physical art,” says FVCKRENDER. “The chain link pendant symbolizes the connection between people, uniting elements of fashion and digital design. Inspired by modern architectural aesthetics and the fluidity of digital forms, this piece bridges the gap between the tangible and intangible worlds.”
“Working with SYKY and FVCKRENDER has been an incredible opportunity to learn from talented people working their craft at a high level. I learned to value his type of relationship as an Olympic athlete and the value of watching, learning and training with experienced professionals to become the best you can be,” says Calvyn Justus. “My innate design aesthetic also ties back to my sporting background and the feelings of pride and self confidence associated with what it meant to be a professional athlete; I want to translate that feeling into my clothing for wearers. A lot of my design style and inspiration process comes from both movement and nature pushing athletic wear and sportswear toward a more expressive and exaggerated form.”
