Where Star-studded Runways, Bold Fashion, Art, & Culture Collided
Miami Fashion Week® (MIAFW) returned South Florida from January 24 – 28, 2024 for exclusive runway shows and events that redefined fashion.
Combining the worlds of fashion, art, and culture, Miami Fashion Week® continued its tradition of transforming the city into a global fashion hub and united industry leaders from around the world.
The week commenced with a press conference at the Gary Nader Art Centre where Gary Nader (Art Collector), CaSandra Diggs (CFDA President), Karl Kani (Fashion Designer), Oliver Gilbert (Miami-Dade Commissioner) and Lourdes Fernández-Velasco (MIAFW Executive Managing Director) welcomed the local community. Featuring the iconic designers Yas González, Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, Rene by RR, Lisu Vega, Angel Sanchez, and Giannina Azar, each show this year’s shows included unforgettable designs that pushed fashion boundaries.
MIAFW’s commitment to sustainability was spotlighted during the Sustainable Summit at Miami-Dade College, which was discussed the critical intersection of fashion and eco-consciousness. Moderated by Gabriella Smith, the Summit included the panel, “The Art of Sustainable Fashion: Blending Creativity with Eco-Consciousness,” with Lisu Vega, Rodner Figueroa, Emily (Milly) Milton, and Moe Hachem, and the panel, “From Waste to Wardrobe: The Role of Recycling in Fashion’s Future,” with Michelle Salsas, Danielle Garno, Matt Levine, and Jaqueline Aramboles.
