For Fall/Winter 2023, C.P. Company has unveiled its latest winterwear standout; TOOB, featuring cutting-edge technology and fabric innovation.
TOOB takes C.P. Company’s trailblazing workwear to the next level via a refined ruggedness that resembles the look and feel of distressed rubber. This season’s TOOB product lineup consists of the TOOB Coat, TOOB Goggle Jacket, TOOB Jacket, TOOB Crossbody Bag – all currently available to purchase on CPcompany.com.
TOOB derives its unique name from its strong rubber-esque texture that’s reminiscent of an inner tube. To achieve TOOB’s distinct look, C.P. Company first puts a layer of opaque transparent polyurethane over a base of colored cotton. Then, the very slight movement of these two layers creates a distressed, used appearance that mimics the look of rubber. Taking it a step further, the brand has added transparent taping to the exterior of each TOOB style to enhance its tire-like appearance – while also increasing overall durability and water resistance.

In 1971 Massimo Osti, a young graphic designer from Bologna who would go on to be recognized as the “godfather of urban sportswear,” founded the brand Chester Perry, famous for its screen-printed t-shirts. In 1978 he changed the name in C.P. Company. This drier, more mature name inaugurated one of the most explosive and influential bursts of creativity in the history of sportswear.
Over the last decades the brand has continued to pioneer a connoisseurial hybrid style that combines the functionality of vintage military, work and sportswear with intense fabric research and innovation, heightened by using garment dyeing, a technique which C.P. Company was the first brand in the world to pioneer in the mid- 1970s. This hybridization of functional menswear and Italian fabric innovation is the origin of C.P. Company and still today remains the basis of every piece of clothing to carry the C.P. Company label.
