While Japandi will remain popular in 2022, design studio Bobbi Beck predicts it will take a step in a darker direction as the trend develops.
Since 2019, Japandi has been a popular design trend in interiors. While the trend is likely to remain popular for at least another year, designers are anticipating how the aesthetic may develop. It’s dominated by neutral palettes and has been for the past 18 months. All trends develop and we’re predicting that Japandi’s natural next step is to head over to the dark side.”
Strap Subtle Pattern Wallpaper
Bobbi Beck’s ‘Strap’ wallpaper contains countless intersecting lines to create a stunning web-like effect. The sporadic nature of the pattern creates a random yet visually appealing design, and because of the subtleness of the wallpaper, it’s flexible enough to be used either as a feature wall or on larger spaces across multiple surfaces.
While Japandi is a comforting aesthetic, it’s already feeling a little oversaturated with more-of-the-same.
