The secrets of Couture, handed down by its makers, came to fruition for Valentino Spring/Summer 2020 Women’s Couture Collection by Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli at the Hotel Salomon de Rothschild in Paris.
Color, cut, form and volume as tools under constant reinvention. A Couture that comes from the conscious: individual – from the Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli – and collective – from the Ateliers, because the dream of Couture needs many different individualities to become real.
Each step leaves a unique imprint. After all, according to Carl Jung, uniqueness is what makes all human beings identical.
Couture as an exercise in collaboration, a movement toward a shared know-how and passion of making beauty tangible. For Valentino Haute Couture Spring/ Summer 2020, Pierpaolo Piccioli focuses on the art of collective dream-making.
The subconscious as a glimpse of a deeper, probably darker, palpably sensual and erotic world in which the true nature of a dress is revealed in a closer dialogue with the body, as transparencies, openings and cuts make structures and the body itself visible, or barely so.
Shapes, imagery and a transformation of materials from cloth into dreams.
For Valentino Haute Couture Spring/ Summer 2020, individualities collide to create a collective and uniform spirit.
Couture as the result of techniques and fantasies that are rarely revealed. Precious materials from violet feathers to pearl embroideries come together to create the Valentino Haute Couture Spring/ Summer 2020 by the Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli
