New York based designer, Bibhu Mohapatra debuted his Spring/Summer 2017 collection at New York Fashion Week, on September 14th, at Skylight Moynihan Station – The Dock.

His elegant designs express his love of Indian fabrics, vibrant colors, and the crafts of his native land. A self-proclaimed “emotional designer,” Mohapatra’s collection conveyed personal and imaginative sentiments.

For his SS17 collection, Mohapatra was inspired by, “The women muses of La Belle Époque; (“The Beautiful Era“), a pre-war, Parisian era, characterized by flourishing art and literature, optimism, prosperity and technological and cultural innovations. With this collection, I am trying to give long due credit to the many unnamed muses who inspired the world of arts and culture during this prolific Era.”

Mohapatra collaborated with Christian Louboutin this season and showed his SS17 collection with exclusive footwear.
