New York based designer, Nicole Miller debuted her Spring/Summer 2017 collection at New York Fashion Week, Friday, September 9th, 2016 at The Gallery at Skylight Clarkson Square.
Nicole Miller is always inspired by French techniques of Haute Couture and her silhouettes have a skillful draping that promote a dynamic body consciousness.
Echoes of art, her travels and popular culture are combined in unique prints and a widely imaginative use of color.
For her Spring/Summer 2017 collection, Nicole Miller was inspired by vintage Panamanian craftsmanship combined with contemporary New York City influences.
The distinct geometrical design of the “mola pattern” from indigenous Panama was incorporated into modern silhouettes throughout the collection to create what Nicole Miller describes as a ‘culture mix.’
The fusion of elements plays on the idea that as the world becomes smaller, everything begins to merge together.
