Tent London invited experts Global Color Research, the publishing house of Mix Magazine and Mix Trends color forecasting book, to curate an inspirational trend and color installation throughout the halls of this years exhibition.
For this purpose the Global Color Research Team have created the Trend Trail by Mix, a project which investigates the evolution of the color green from 2011 to 2014 as interpreted by different designers and companies in four unique spaces around Tent London‘s venue. The Global Color Research Team is excited to announce collaborations with Homebase, Pantone, Cutting Technologies Ltd and Artwood who will be working with the artists to bring our trend stories to life.

Trend Space 1: Bleep 2012

As one of four trends for Autumn Winter 2012/2013 forecasted by Global Color Research in Mix publications, ‘Bleep’ looks into retro technology with a twenty-first century twist. To bring this trend to life, Mix have brought together Homebase and designer Rafel Oliva using paint as a medium, visitors to the show are asked to participate in live colour painting inspired by Bleep’s mechanical nostalgia.

Trend Space 2: Precious 2012/13

‘Precious’, published in Mix Trends issue 24. for Spring Summer 2013, embarks on a love affair with semi-precious stones and the history of age-old natural resources which inspire new outcomes. Vibrant emerald and acidic green act as the key highlights to the story.
Based around a concept of the fabled Rasata Tree, Artwood’s wooden surface installation is inspired by organic growth, celebrating the vivid mineral greens from the ‘Precious’ trend within their composition.

Trend Space 3: Alpine 2013

‘Alpine’ forms the down to earth trend for Autumn Winter 2013/2014, Mix Trends issue 25. A woodland palette inspires a natural aesthetic while a trio of greens bring a calming effect and are given a fresh identity with warming reds and yellows. Highlighting contemporary craft processes such as laser engraving, Trend Space 3 sees Cutting Technologies Ltd. and designer Daniel Heath explore the material element of ‘Alpine’ on interior hard surfaces.
