| I could never quite understand why PPR (the company that owns Gucci and a bunch of other fancy brands) decided to buy Christopher Kane, although the best reasoning I heard was that it was likely a cheap acquisition. If it works out, they will buy more small brands, which are cheaper than buying and re-launching old brands. If it doesn't work out, then the money they spent was probably just pocket change, so no big deal. But that still doesn't explain why they chose Christopher Kane, which to me is a brand that is quite tacky...read more |
