Sarah Burton, Creative Director of Alexander McQueen Philip Treacy, London Milliner
Sarah Burton was named the creative director of Alexander McQueen in May 2010 and credits Simon Ungless, Director of the School of Fashion, for placing her there as an intern. In a story that ran in The New York Times on May 04, 2011, she told Cathy Horyn, "I wouldn't be here if it weren't for Simon." Sarah Burton designed the wedding dress of Catherine Middleton for her marriage to Prince William, Duke of Cambridge. She has also dressed the First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama, Cate Blanchett, Lady Gaga, and Gwyneth Paltrow, among many others.

Philip Treacy, milliner, has collaborated with fashion houses such as Giorgio Armani, Valentino, Givenchy, Prabal Gurung, Gareth Pugh, Ralph Lauren, Donna Karen, and Rifat Ozbek. In 2007, he was recognized by Her Majesty The Queen for his services to the British Fashion industry and appointed as an honorary Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE). In 2011, he designed 36 hats for the Royal Wedding of the Duke and the Duchess of Cambridge. He has even designed hats for Gladys Perint Palmer, Executive Director of the School of Fashion, and her mother.

H.R.H. Princess Reema Bandar Al-Saud has extensive experience in luxury retail and is the CEO of the ALFA and AL HAMA companies that own and operate Harvey Nichols Department Store, Donna Karan, and DKNY stores in Saudi Arabia. She is also an ardent advocate for Breast Cancer research and awareness in a conservative country that often finds such topics of conversation taboo. Together with Zahra Breast Cancer Association, she led 3,952 Saudi women to achieve the Guinness World Record for the largest human awareness ribbon.

The School of Fashion creates opportunities for guests to interact with students during discussions, classroom visits, and portfolio reviews. These interactions encourage consideration for internship placement from various areas of study including Fashion Design for Women's Wear, Men's Wear, and Children's Wear; Technical Design; Textile Design; Knitwear Design; Fashion Journalism; Fashion Marketing; Fashion Merchandising; and Visual Merchandising.

On Saturday, May 5th at 2:00 PM, the Fashion Show will be presented to the general public, free of charge. For more information and to RSVP to the Saturday, May 5th show, please visit: www.academyart.edu/forms/2012-05-05-fashion-show.jsp
