Jean Paul Gaultier
I liked this Jean Paul Gaultier show, it had a lot of fun, burlesque-y, cabaret costume pieces that look chic and luxe. The strong points were the coat dresses, the lace and ruffle trims, and the colour palette of black and red. But a few of the pieces felt a bit too ready-to-wear (and this isn't the first show to do this, ahem, Chanel!) Givenchy
While I find it slightly annoying that Givenchy has barely progressed from the Autumn/Winter 2010 couture collection (they look like they could all be from the same show), I won't deny that the pieces are beautiful. A few interesting points of note, firstly, Riccardo Tisci cast all Asian models, which worked very well with this small collection...read more |
