Drawing inspiration from the 1920's - 30's expatriate settlement in Africa, Edward Finney presented his Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Following the tale of Alice de Janzé, descriptive of the Roaring Twenties, Finney re-created with a modern blend a fusion of tribal strength and classical style.
Alice de Janzé was a member of the Happy Valley set who settled between Kenya and Uganda, at a time when parties became larger, lifestyles more decadent and morals became looser. Challenging the styles and attitudes of societies, the Happy Valley set became notorious for their hedonistic lifestyle. Alice herself, was connected with numerous scandals including drugs and attempted murder, a true femme fatale. |
