September 13, 2010, New York - With the reflecting pool outside Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center as a backdrop, Malandrino's Spring 2011 collection called "Modoura", took us on a trip far away from the overcast skies of New York City to the South of France.
Malandrino's inspiration for the collection came from the artists' village, Vallauris, in the South of France, and more specifically, ceramist Roger Capron.

This spirit of artistry and craftsmanship could be seen in the beautiful details of the clothing like a floor-length macramé dress, chunky beaded jewelry, woven leather vests and intricately-designed studded jackets. These delicate touches show Malandrino's attention to detail, as well as her ability to mix both edgy and feminine elements effortlessly.
The use of color also created interest, with pops of blues and purples complementing the lovely watercolor prints of of elegantly draped summer dresses and assymetrical blouses. Although the details gave a fresh look Malandrino's spring collection, she did not abandon the signature sense of easy chic on which the brand has been built:
pieces like wide-leg linen pants, drop crotch capris and bright dresses, are sure to become staples in the wardrobes of cool fashionable women everywhere.
