Christian Siriano for Payless Fall 2011 Hits the Runway at NY Fashion Week

February 14, 2011 - Payless ShoeSource unveiled the latest Christian Siriano for Payless Gold line at the designer's Fall '11 runway show at New York Fashion Week.

Siriano's RTW collection and shoes are heavily inspired by nature, as evidenced by the darker tones, hoofed-toe detailing and petal embellishments on the dress pumps.

The Harness Bootie includes strong pops of rich gold metal detailing with buckles and triangle rings iconic of a Harness boot, along with an oval metal plate on the heel counter, metal toe collar and perfectly placed dome rivets throughout. The overall design is dramatic and sculptural with a unique triangular heel punctuated with gold detail and dome rivets. The Harness Bootie is seen on the runway today in matte black satin, gunmetal python and a black "windmill" fabric.

The Orchid Pump is an ultra-modern rendition of a classic pump featuring Christian's signature blunt hoofed-toe shape. The style also features a stick-straight black lacquer heel along with a hidden platform sole and a sexy sculptural scoop design on the instep. A riveted collar detail is juxtaposed with a heavy array of black petal accents that germinate at the back heel counter of the shoe and wrap around and trail the outside of the foot. The petal cluster incorporates matte and shiny petals that evoke beautiful, exotic leaves from plants that grow in the dark -- a nod to the organic and earthy inspiration of Christian's overall collection. The Orchid Pump is seen on the runway with and without the petal treatment in black matte satin, gunmetal python and black "windmill" fabric.

The High Vamp Pump features the same silhouette as the Orchid Pump; however, the key detailing is more substantial allowing the additional play and mix of various fabrics and textures. The High Vamp Pump is on the runway today in two versions: gunmental python mixed with black distressed leather and distressed black leather combined with matte black satin.

The Cobra Bootie is an ankle boot featuring the signature hoofed-toe shape and stick-straight black lacquered heel with dome rivet detailing. A vast connection of straps adorned with nail-head studs are hinged together with circular and square gunmetal rings that hub the intricate strapping detail. The bootie was inspired by animal harnesses; the straps cage the hoofed shape of this silhouette. The Cobra Bootie is seen on the runway today in gunmetal python and lowpile "furry" wool materials.

The U-Bootie is an ankle boot featuring a feminine U-shaped scoop design that allows a sneak peek at the ankle. The U-Bootie also features the signature hoofed-toe with riveted collar detail and stick-straight black lacquered heel. The style appears on the runway in the black brocade "windmill" fabric.

The Tall-Shaft Armor Boot is a two-in-one style and likely the most powerful design on the runway. It features a contemporized Mary Jane upper with strap and buckle details and an up-the-leg gladiator-esque removable armor shaft. The shoe portion includes the signature hoofed-toe and a stick-straight black lacquer heel. The Tall-Shaft Armor Boot features metallic detailing and is seen in gunmetal python and black "windmill" fabric.

Also on the runway are two handbags -- a man-tailored tote featuring a two-strap handle, side grommets and chain detailing, as well as a square clutch adorned with oversized dome rivet studs. Both are featured in gunmetal python and a lavish green "windmill" fabric.

The Christian Siriano for Payless Gold collection is Christian's Runway-to-Reality line for Payless that will result in a collection of about five shoes and two handbags. All styles are inspired by the shoe and handbag designs seen on the runway. The exclusive Fall collection will be in stores in September.
