September 5th - 12th, 2007, New York City plays host to the highly anticipated Nolcha Fashion Week: NYC. In selected locations throughout NYC, fashion shows from today's top emerging designers, fashion industry seminars, the charity event Fundraising through Fashion benefiting Step Up Women's Network and fashion designer competition - Silhouette will unite all areas of the industry in one special week.
Opening the Nolcha runway is acclaimed designer, Lei Marco. His incredible designs have graced the pages of Vogue, Esquire and Ocean Drive Magazine to name a few. He has a client list consisting of Penelope Cruz, Naomi Campbell, Leonardo Di Caprio and Collin Farrell.
Other extraordinarily talented designers unveiling their latest collections at Nolcha Fashion Week: NYC includes Katya Leonovich, Annie S Limited, Jennifer Nicole Lee, Ef-fect, Quis Es Tu, Carmelita Couture, Rimalya, Samata Angel, Patricia King-Davies and Rebecca Turbow. Boutiques featured include Jason Richard Thomas, Ms Bo Dangles and Twinestones.
This week will host Fundraising through Fashion, a charity event benefiting Step Up Women's Network sponsored by Coca-Cola and Victoria's Secret Beauty featuring a fashion show with Emmy Award winning fashion designer Birgit Muller and silent auction. All proceeds will be donated to the Teen Health and Wellness Program of Step Up Women's Network.
Step Up Women's Network (www.suwn.org) is for women by women. Their active membership has grown to over 4000 women with network numbers reaching over 40,000. The events have been hosted by luminaries such as Kate Capshaw, Patricia Clarkson, Sela Ward, Patricia Heaton, Jessica Alba, Jennie Garth, Mena Suvari, and Aisha Tyler.
Nolcha, in association with The Fashion Journal and LookBookMedia.com, is proud to present Silhouette. Silhouette is the competition portion of the week where talented students from around the world will compete for a grand prize of $5,000, a publicity campaign by LookBookMedia.com, and boutique placement in NY and Miami Lavish Boutique.
Hosting and showcasing her line, Dahl, during Silhouette is Alison Kelly, fashion designer and former contestant of the hit Bravo TV Series "Project Runway" Season 3. The judging panel will include fashion designer Birgit Muller, TV correspondent, style expert and co-founder of StyleBakery.com, Alison Deyette and fashion designer Samata Angel.
